Are you interested in BellaPierre’s natural lipstick? In this Bellapierre lipstick review, we’re going over its ingredients, texture, packaging, and sharing personal experience in use. Of course, we’ll also take a closer look at how ethical, as in organic, vegan, and/or cruelty-free, this mineral makeup brand is.
*July 2020: This review had been revised and updated for accuracy. Most shades are hard to come by now, and it looks as though Bellapierre stopped producing this lipstick. But you’ll find some fun alternatives below! 😉
Bellapierre Mineral Lipstick in a Nutshell
The lipsticks by Bellapierre are made with:
- natural waxes
- mineral pigments
- iron oxides
- flower extracts
- and antioxidants such as vitamin C and vitamin E.
Those mineral pigments do a nice job protecting the fragile skin on our lips from sun damage.
Some descriptions online (By a vendor starting with a W and ending in -mart) mention that Bellapierre mineral lipstick is free from synthetic ingredients, animal products, lead, lanolin, parabens, and other harmful ingredients. The ‘animal ingredients’ part is inaccurate. Beeswax and carmine are on the ingredient list. Ipsy even claims this lipstick as ‘vegan’ in the description. On the official Bellapierre website, there are no faulty or deceptive statements. Clearly, this is just the vendors being sloppy and lacking real interest in the subject.
Bellapierre Lipstick Shades
“Catwalk” is the only shade I’ve owned.
All in all, Catwalk is a perfect shade of pink. As someone with pale skin, it makes me look like a more fresh and fruity version of myself. It’s not too bold or bright, merely cheerful. This can make for a fairly natural look, complementing a low or medium amount of make-up. Catwalk gives just the right amount of pizzaz. It wouldn’t easily clash with any particular eye makeup or clothing, in my experience. Perhaps the only unflattering combo would be to pair it with a piece of clothing in a different tint of pink.
Packaging
BellaPierre’s natural mineral makeup packaging certainly looks chic with its all-black appearance and white lettering. The lipstick has a classic shape, and the cap locks well with the base part. The stick comes in a small cardboard box.
Texture & Flavor
This natural lipstick’s texture is very smooth and creamy. It doesn’t dry out my lips and seems to help moisturize them. It has a delicate, sweet flavor and scent, which reminds of something edible. Something like custard, or pralines, which must be due to the “vanillin” in the ingredient list.

Bellapierre Lipstick Review: the Good!
- It’s buttery smooth and the moisturizing texture helps with dry lips.
- The color Catwalk is fantastic and very versatile.
- Bonus points for the yummy vanilla flavor.
- No hiccups with the packaging on my watch… Everything works the way it’s supposed to and the black makes for a classic and elegant look.
- Bella Pierre’s natural mineral lipsticks have a lot going for them.
Room for Improvement?
The presence of beeswax and carmine in the ingredients means this natural lipstick is not suited for vegans.
I found one customer review complaining that some of the pigments used by Bella Pierre are synthetic. Despite that, and provided it is true, compared to all the conventional lipsticks out there, Bella Pierre still is a much more natural choice.
Bottom Line
Bellapierre used to make a lovely natural lipstick which I have used with pleasure… However, it seems they are no longer in production at the time of updating this Bellapierre lipstick review. (Certain retailers still carry them: Bella Pierre lipsticks on Amazon.)
It deserves to be mentioned that I’m not exactly heartbroken over that fact. There are so many wonderful natural makeup brands nowadays. Bellapierre isn’t even organic, so in all honesty, I’ve been happy to shift my attention elsewhere.
The lipsticks by Dr. Hauschka are beautiful and excellent for moisturizing dry lips. Dr. Hauschka is not a vegan brand. Their focus is on using all-natural ingredients. They grow their own plants in bio-dynamic, organic gardens.
Inika is a (vegan!) Australian brand and I’m currently using their lip tint. It’s absolutely perfect in almost every way.
