Kae Argaroyale Day Cream Review

To review the “Argaroyale” day cream by Kae I used a sample that was in one of my other skin care orders. It lasted me almost two weeks and gave a very good impression of the product.

Packaging

Kae Argaroyale Day Cream is packaged in an airless bottle with a pump dispenser. The color combination of white/transparent with dark brown looks quite chic, it radiates allure and comfort – interesting choice, but I like it.

Texture

The texture of this largely organic anti-aging day cream is just lucious. I was amazed by how such a nutritious cream can at the same time feel so light and airy. The Argaroyale day cream is absolutely not thick or sturdy, I’d call it rather lightweight, but not at the expense of any of its nourishing and soothing qualities.

Scent

Really wonderful – a delicious fragrance that reminds me of a garden with roses and some other fragrant flowers as well. Not very easy to pinpoint what the scent consists of. Geranium I found to be easily recognizable without looking at the ingredients. Based on the ingredient list Argaroyale’s fragrance should be composed of different essential oils, not just geranium (although I got that one right!) but also immortelle, white grapefruit, petit grain and sandalwood.

Ingredients

Seriously, is this it…? What a stunningly short ingredients list this cream has… Oh wait, this is strange. I usually copy and paste the ingredients from the website selling the product and then quick-check with the packaging to make sure it is accurate. Turns out the ingredients on the packaging here are very different.

AQUA, ALOE BARBADENSIS*, ARGANIA SPINOSA OIL*, COCO CAPRYLATE CAPRATE, ROSA DAMASCENA DISTILLATE*, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, HELICHYRSUM ITALICUM FLOWER WATER*, GLYCERIN, ROSA RUBIGINOSA SEED OIL*, GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, OPUNTIA FICUS INDICA*, SILYBUM MARIANUM SEED OIL*, SODIUM HYALURONATE, ROYAL JELLY*, TAPIOCA STARCH*, ALARIA ESCULENTA EXTRACT, CETEARYL GLUCOSIDE, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, PELARGONIUM ASPERUM OIL, HELICHRYSUM ITALICUM OIL*, SANTALUM AUSTROCALEDONICUM WOOD OIL, CITRUS GRANDIS PEEL OIL, CITRUS RETICULATA BLANCO*, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, SODIUM BENZOATE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, DEHYDROACETIC ACID, TOCOPHEROL, CITRIC ACID, CITRAL, CITRONELLOL, GERANIOL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL.

The little asterisks refer to organic ingredients here as well, and the Ecocert certification still stands. I never know which words to capitalize when it gets all scientific, so I’m just following the all-caps lead of the wrapper, haha.

How odd is this?!

LoveLula is usually very good about listing the full ingredient list, and not just some of the “active” ingredients. (Only listing the active ingredients is common practice for less natural skin care brands.) Quite a few more ingredients here than listed on the product information page, hmm. Nothing bad still, though I could have done with the absence of benehyl alcohol and benzyl alcohol.

This cream is still a little gem, made with a shortlist of oils and extracts that are widely known to be terrific for dry and/or mature skin. I’m keeping it in mind for under the Christmas tree. 🙂

What I like about Kae Argaroyale Day Cream

  • Wonderful fragrance! (Which is as always very subjective and a matter of opinion.)
  • Dreamy texture.
  • Delivers the perfect amount of nourishment and moisturizing to my skin at this moment. (I believe my skin is sensitive and a bit dryer than it used to be, but would not qualify as “mature” just yet… though you can’t start too early with the anti-aging ammo, right? As soon as it doesn’t give you pimples, I’d say let’s bring in the big guns. There’s a reason it is called anti aging, ha.)

What I like less about Kae Argaroyale Day Cream

Well heck, I dunno… I like everything about it.

Okay, maybe the price can be a hurdle. This potion isn’t exactly cheap. If you usually shop for face cream at the department store, then the amount you’re used to spending will not get you anything by Kae. To put things in perspective, if you’re in the habit of dropping close to three digits or more on a jar of Helena Rubinstein, then the adjustment should feel like a breath of fresh air for your wallet. (Besides being a breath of fresh natural air for your skin. Yup, I bet you saw that one coming, eh?)

Kae Argaroyale Day Cream – Final Thoughts

Kae Argaroyale day cream rests on my skin like a dream – I’m sorry to use such a cliche, but it’s true.

My face feels moisturized and protected, but not suffocated under a heavy layer of cream. Kae’s Argaroyale cream delivers the perfect amount of whatever it is my face needs, that’s the best way I can describe it, and it lasts throughout the day too. I’ve even used some at night, simply because I couldn’t get enough of both the feel and the scent. I’ll be eyeing out the next opportunity on LoveLula, as they often have brand-specific sales and special offers.

I’ve also browsed around the web to find out where to get the best deal on Kae Argaroyale day cream, and this is what I found:
