The Organic Pharmacy Lifting Serum REVIEW, Stem Cells Against Aging

Review of The Organic Pharmacy’s Gene Expression Lifting Serum. In a nutshell: it’s a high-tech anti-aging ally, and you are likely to notice some effect on your face… as well as (depending on your financial footprint) in your wallet.

Packaging

A pump dispenser is ultimately the best way to store skin care – it is more efficient than a tube and doesn’t involve (dirty) finger dipping like a jar.

Texture

The gene expressions lifting serum is quite runny. This also means it spreads out easily. I was very pleased with how it seems to penetrate well, and leaves no residue what so ever. You put it on, spread it out and before you can count to three, it’s “gone”!

I’m a bit confused in regards to its use after a moisturizer. (That’s what the directions say.) Always thought a serum to be something you add to your skin care routine before moisturizing, to get a maximum of benefits from it?

Scent

I think The Organic Pharmacy did a nice job with the scent. The gene expression lifting serum’s fragrance has a hint of luxury (very appropriate) but the fragrance is nothing too overpowering. One step above unscented, just fresh and enjoyable enough. I can’t imagine it being much of a draw-back for anyone. Sometimes a fragrance is so present and specific that you really have to like it to enjoy the stuff… Guess it can be a smart move to go with a discrete scent, to not exclude any potential users.

Ingredients

Ingredients, INCI: Aloe (Aloe Barbadensis)*, Aqua (Water) , Glycerin (vegetable)*, Titanium Dioxide , Chondrus Crispus Extract, Mica, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Isomalt, Silica, Carbomer, Hibiscus (Hibiscus Sabdariffa), Linseed (Linum Usitatissmum), Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, Gluconolactone, Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Parfum (Fragrance), Retinol, Lecithin, CI77491, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Sorbic Acid, Grapeseed Extract (Vitis Vinifera), Phospholipids, Dextran, Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2, Geraniol, Citronellol, Linalool, Eugenol, Limonene , Citral , Farnesol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Isoeugenol.

So what is it exactly that makes this serum so exclusive?

  • It contains grape stem cells, to protect skin from UV aging.
  • Glucosamine has an effect on wrinkles and pigmentation.
  • Vegetable peptides increase firmness.
  • Hibiscus helps improve the skin’s texture and elasticity.

Then there’s the sea algae for hydration, flax seed is apparently ‘remodeling’ (whatever that means? Is it kind of the same as ‘increasing firmness’?) and sodium hyaluronate. Not a very expensive or exclusive ingredient, but definitely something known to plump up the skin. You may also have heard of it being called hyaluronic acid.

The Organic Pharmacy refers to this serum with terms as “years of research” and “the latest innovation”. Pictures of before and after 28 days of use are actually convincing! The clinical studies testing the effects were carried out by an independent institute specializing in dermal 3D imaging.

Well, there you have it. Now, all that stands between you and the possibly revolutionary anti-aging effects of this little gem is… a few hundred bucks.

Say what?! Yes, it doesn’t look like those years of research have come cheap. As much as I enjoyed the sample, I won’t be able to afford a full size. I caught a good glimpse of how this serum is indeed pretty amazing. If you have the funds to spare, go for it. 🙂

What I like about The Organic Pharmacy Gene Expression Lifting Serum

  • The golden shimmer. Partially. (See below.)
  • Penetrates fast and leaves no residue.
  • The ingredients seem to work quite well, and are backed by some thorough research.
  • It does indeed make my skin smoother, firmer and more glowing. Seems to have some effect on fine lines around the eyes.

What I like less about The Organic Pharmacy Gene Expression Lifting Serum

  • I’m partial on the shimmery effect. It definitely looks cute, but I’m wondering whether the titanium dioxide and mica have any other (skin improving) purpose. Maybe these ingredients are only there to add some sparkle and woo the eye? I have to admit it kind of works, the gold sparkly effect has a way of luring you in… though rationally I can’t help but see it as smoke and mirrors. 😉
  • It is most definitely a very nice serum, but why oh why does it have to be this expensive?

The Organic Pharmacy Review: Gene Expression Lifting Serum, Final Thoughts

My sample stretched for about two weeks, using the serum once a day instead of twice (as recommended) at bedtime. I love how it feels, smells and how my skin feels and looks afterwards. The anti-aging effects are noticeable, even with such short time using it. My skin feels a little firmer and seems to have a bit more of a glow. That being said, I am not the only one to find the price tag a major hurdle.

Here’s a glimpse of what other people say:

” […] already fell in love. This is amazing, makes my skin looks bright & feel nourished. […] but with such an expensive price I can not afford it at least for now.

” […] absolutely love it! My skin really does look and feel amazing after using it. I would highly recommend it. […] I can’t afford that so I’ll have to live without it. “

” There is a noticeable difference in the depth of my laugh lines. It is costly but it only takes a small amount. I have been using this for about 10 weeks and have almost half the tube left. I will continue to treat myself to this miracle. “
