John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture Review

John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture review.

If you don’t have much time right now, I’ve squeezed the gist of my whole review into a few lines right here at the top of the page. For the full review, just keep reading. 🙂

In summary:

Amazing organic moisturizer, exactly what I needed when my skin was looking dry and I noticed the first appearance of some wrinkles. I even use it around the eyes and overall my skin feels softer, happier, hydrated and also looks more radiant. It’s a small tube, but less expensive than the crappy high-end moisturizers that contain a load of chemicals. Great, clean and efficient botanical ingredients, lovely smell and texture – a little gem! Would definitely buy again.

Packaging

John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture comes in a slender brown plastic tube with a screw cap, which is easily twisted on and off. I believe there was a cardboard box around the tube, but I may remember that wrong, so don’t be surprised if after reading this John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture Review, you decide to get yourself one, and it is only the tube. 🙂

Texture

Perfectly creamy and light. Not runny, it stays on the tip of your finger like a perky little dab, until you spread it out.

Scent

Had a good laugh as I was browsing other John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture reviews out of curiosity, and found one on a BIG and well known skin care blog. I’m not disclosing the name of the website or page, because I’m about to make fun of the lady who wrote it, and don’t want any trouble. 😉

Misses “I’m a skin care expert” from this particular site (not an organic or natural skin care blog, by the way) was quite taken with the scent of this moisturizer and attributing it to the mandarin extract. Haha! Really? If you’re such an expert when it comes to skin care ingredients, you should be able to identify the scent of ylang-ylang essential oil, which is what John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture smells like – not mandarin extract. I know I’m being a little mean here, but this website has more than once rubbed be the wrong way, by the way in which they didn’t mind shit-talking natural ingredients, usually following up seamlessly with a pre-selling sales pitch for their own brand of not-so-natural skin care products.

So yeah, I’m allowing myself to have a brief (but real hard) laugh at the folks who apparently know exactly what is good for your skin, but aren’t able to recognize a natural ingredient when they smell one. Booh. John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture has a delightful ylang-ylang scent. If you love the strong and sweet tropical aroma of ylang-ylang essential oil, you should definitely enjoy the fragrance of this moisturizer. That being said, even if you find the scent of the essential oil too overpowering, in this product it really isn’t. Compared to ylang-ylang essential oil, it has been brought back to a most delicate whiff.

When taking a closer look at John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture’s ingredients, its lovely effects on my skin start making sense. Instead of adding some extracts to a rather ‘neutral’ cream base (these extracts are usually added in small amounts, and located near the end of an ingredient list), the Mandarin Maximum Moisture starts off with Aloe vera, sunflower seed oil, followed immediately by aspen bark extract, mandarin peel extract and glycoproteins. Only after these key ingredients, come the basics such as glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, and the emulsifyer.

What I like about John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture

  • The texture, somewhere in between a cream and a gel. It is light and fresh, as well as soothing.
  • How I can use it around my eyes without any problem – there are actual eye creams that cause me more trouble than this organic moisturizer. I can apply it as an eye cream without itching, tearing or any other discomfort at all.
  • It absolutely and definitely delivers the promised maximum moisture, and my skin feels smoother and looks more hydrated.

What I like less about John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture

I simply couldn’t find any downsides to mention here in my John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture review. Totally love it. It is not exactly cheap, but I’ve been using the same little tube for months. More importantly, I have been, or should I say my skin has been, feeling as though it was worth the investment.

Final thoughts & other Organic Moisturizer Reviews

The John Masters Mandarin Maximum Moisture review is coming to an end and I believe I’ve covered all the details…

Before buying this, I hesitated for a while because of the price. After finally going for it, I haven’t had a moment of regret. This is a great organic moisturizer for dehydrated and sensitive skin and a little goes a long way. Mature skin would most definitely love it, but simply dehydrated skin gets a boost from it. The details such as scent, packaging, ease of use and texture that can all together play an important role in whether you like a skin care product or not are all equally pleasant. I.m.o. there isn’t a false note in this little gem.

Pricetag: around US $48
