Scientific name: Cymbopogon citratus

Origin: India

History: Used in traditional medicine in India for bringing down fever and healing infections.

Perfume note: Middle

Blends well with: Basil, Cedarwood, Coriander, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Lavandin and Tea Tree, Lemon, Niaouli, Bergamot, Palmarosa, Petitgrain, Rosemary.

Caution: Could irritate sensitive skin.

Uses

Skin: With toning and astringent properties lemongrass can be helpful for oily skin or acne. Use moderately and well diluted, remember to test the oil first for any reaction.

Mood: Has a sedating effect on the central nervous system

Other: Digestive issues like colitis, gastroenteritis and indigestion.
