Nourish Argan Skin Renew Face Cream {Review}

Nourish Argan Skin Renew face cream with frankincense and rose of jericho is made with jojoba oil and sunflower seed oil, in addition to the advertised argan oil. This natural organic face cream also contains kale seed oil, borage seed oil, ginger root extract and myrrh essential oil. These ingredients are a very nice choice for normal to dry skin, as well as mature/aging skin.

Packaging

It makes sense for a cream of this thickness to come in a jar instead of an airless dispenser, but a jar does leave the product more vulnerable to dirt/bacteria. It is probably a good idea to make sure to wash your hands before dipping in.

Texture

This cream is quite thick. I find it spreads out very well though, despite it not being fluid at all. And I noticed it leaves a light but nourishing “film” on my skin, which works very well against dryness. I can imagine this is probably inherent to the cream’s rather solid consistency.

Scent

The Nourish Argan Skin Renew Cream is one of the least scented face creams I’ve used so far. At first I couldn’t discern any fragrance at all – it was more of a mellow, non-existing cream-like scent. Upon second sniffs, the cream seems to have the faintest hint of frankincense and myrrh, but again – it isn’t much and I wasn’t able to identify these scents before looking at the ingredient list.

If you need your face cream to smell floral, sweet, or otherwise “pleasant/happy”, this one probably isn’t for you. On the other hand, if you often find the fragrance of a strongly scented product off-putting, here’s a natural and largely organic face cream with barely any scent at all.

Ingredients

Ingredients, INCI: Aqua, Simmondsia chinesis (jojoba) seed oil*, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, Glycerin*, Cetearyl alcohol, Palmitoyl tripeptide-5, Cetearyl glucoside, Sodium levulinate, Levulinic acid, Argania sponosa kernal oil*, Selaginella lepidophylla (rose of Jericho) extract, Lactobacillus ferment, Crambe abyssinica (Abysinnian kale) seed oil, Borago officinalis (borage) seed oil*, Rosa caninca (wild rose) seed oil*, Cetearyl olivate, Sorbitan olivate, Glyceryl sterate, Sodium hyaluronate, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice powder*, Tocopherol, Boswellia carterii (Frankincense) oil*, Potassium sorbate, Bisabolol, Zingiber officinale (ginger) root extract, Commiphora myrrha (myrrh) oil, limonene.

*Organic Ingredients.

Jojoba oil is one of my favorites, because it is the oil with a molecular structure closest to our own skin’s sebum. This makes jojoba a perfect choice for all skin types. The argan oil in this natural organic moisturiser makes it more of a normal/dry/mature skin moisturiser, since argan oil has a high content of vitamin E and fatty acids.

What I like about the Nourish Argan Skin Renew Cream

  • Very nourishing.
  • Creamy texture, I definitely don’t mind the thicker cream, it feels nice.
  • Long after application, my face still feels good and supple, whereas with some other creams and lotions, my skin tends to need more quickly because they disappear or sink in too fast.

What I like less about the Nourish Argan Skin Renew Cream

I could have done with a little more fragrance, but that’s just me. The almost absent scent isn’t a reason to refrain from getting more of this stuff, as long as it works on all other fronts.

Final thoughts & other Natural Organic Moisturisers

I’ve been using the Argan Skin Renew Cream in hot and in cold weather, and either way it provides my face with much needed instant comfort, as well as long-lasting nourishment. Despite its lack of frills in the scent department, this cream appears to be a great natural organic moisturiser and a very good fit for my skin. I guess I’ll just have to satisfy my olfactory cravings in other ways. My skin enjoys the nourishing, silky texture of the Argan Skin Renew Cream. I appreciate the selection of natural (and many organic) ingredients, many of which have anti-aging and healing properties.

Pricetag: around US $35.
