Organic Coconut Dream Shower Gel by Lavera reviewed.
Lavera is a German brand originally. Lavera uses 100% natural ingredients for all products. These come from organic agriculture as much as possible. Neither the end products nor the used ingredients are tested on animals.
Packaging
The organic coconut dream shower gel comes in a plastic tube. I’ve had it for a while and can’t remember if there was a cardboard box around the tube when I got it – don’t think so.
Texture
It’s less runny than most bath and shower gels. The organic coconut dream shower gel by Lavera is almost transparent, rather thick and slippery in the hands. A dollop of the shower gel transforms into a creamy soap when rubbing with water.
Scent
Lavera’s organic coconut dream shower gel smells tropical and suave. Coconut is in the name, but the description mentions vanilla as well, which makes sense, because it definitely smells like more than just pure coconut.
Ingredients
Ingredients (INCI): Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Coco Glucoside, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Sodium Coco-Sulfate, Vanilla Plantifolia Fruit Extract*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Extract*, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract*, Xanthan Gum, Alcohol*, Fragrance/ Parfum (natural essential oils).
Sodium Coco-Sulfate, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside and Coco Glucoside are mild detergents derived from coconut oil and sugar. On Lavera’s website they have a pretty nice ingredient list in which you can look up the components of their products, but I also checked these substances in the EWG database called “Skindeep“. Great scores there for the three ingredients mentioned before, green light all over!
Leaves me to wonder what the fragrance component is in Lavera’s organic coconut dream shower gel, and if it is natural. Since Lavera seems to have high standards for their products and meets the requirements for different ecological & organic certifications, given to the best organic skin care only, I guess the fragrance not being specified is a negligeable detail.
What I like about Lavera’s organic body wash
The scent is delicious and the creamy texture is very gently on the skin, leaving it delicately perfumed. This product is wonderful to transform the bathroom into a tropical paradise. I love the fact that Lavera’s organic coconut dream shower gel is so natural and organic. No harsh preservatives!
What I like less about Lavera’s organic body wash
To lather in tropical bliss, I love using Lavera’s organic coconut dream shower gel, but to get squeeky clean I need soap. This shower gel doesn’t seem ‘agressive’ enough for the heavy lifting when it comes to smelling fresh. That’s just a minor point though – a bar of soap for the spots that need it ànd this shower gel for the rest make an ideal combo in my shower.

Absolutely lovely, a very natural and organic organic body wash, definitely qualifying for a “best organic skin care” mention. Great addition to the daily cleaning ritual.
