Pinks Boutique Ocha & Rosehip Moisturiser {Review}

Pinks Boutique Ocha & Rosehip moisturiser reviewed. A natural face cream with 91% organic ingredients.

Packaging

Even though this organic moisturiser feels a little thicker than some others I’ve used, it comes in a pump dispenser which is always great to keep skin care products clean and safe – whether it be from light and free radicals or just dirty fingers. Nothing wrong with the thickness, by the way, but more on that below.

Texture

This natural organic moisturiser by Pinks Boutique is on the thicker end, though still a tad less than my previously reviewed Argan Skin Renew Face Cream, by the brand Nourish. It spreads out very well, and I’m only reminded of the Ocha & Rosehip moisturiser’s thicker consistency by the luscious and silky feel of my face afterwards. I can apply this cream around my eyes as well, without experiencing any discomfort. It is white and creamy, very smooth and delicious to use.

Scent

The Pai Ocha & Rosehip moisturiser smells heavenly. At first, I totally thought it smelled like roses! Upon re-inspection of the label, which mentioned essential oils of lavender, ylang-ylang and rose geranium, I was able to identify my confusion… [slams hand against forehead] …since the geranium oil is often referred to as having a rose-like fragrance.

I’m excited to try more Pinks Boutique natural and organic skin care products, because some others have these same essential oils in ’em, which means I can be fairly sure I’ll enjoy their scent as well.

In a base of sunflower seed oil, shea butter and cocoa butter, we have a few other oils and extracts, plus the earlier mentioned lavender, geranium, and ylang-ylang essential oils. I almost missed it, but my eye just fell on the coconut alcohol – apparently, this moisturiser isn’t alcohol free then, but since it is mentioned more towards the end of the ingredient list, the cream shouldn’t contain a whole lot of it.

Still, for those who wish to steer clear of skin care products containing alcohol, perhaps you’d rather check out some other natural organic facial moisturisers. These are made without so much as a drop of alcohol:

What I like about Pinks Boutique Ocha & Rosehip Moisturiser

  • Lovely creamy texture.
  • Great effect on my skin, nourishes well and keeps my face soft until the morning or evening.
  • Delicious fragrance.
  • Those essential oils responsible for the nice scent are also known to be very good for the skin – healing and balancing.

What I like less about Pinks Boutique Ocha & Rosehip Moisturiser

I can’t think of anything – the price is on the higher end, but in all fairness that is the case with all quality skin care. Yes, even (or should I say: especially!) those skin care products & brands that aren’t natural or organic at all.

Final thoughts & other Natural Organic Moisturisers

Pinks Boutique Ocha & Rosehip moisturiser is delicious to use.

My face is now (mid thirties) in need of something sturdier than the “light” stuff. You know – those moisturisers made with the twenty-something crowd in mind. 😉 With my skin being less oily and more dry/sensitive instead, I am finally able to appreciate the extra nourishment of a cream like this one. The Ocha & Rosehip moisturiser nourishes long-term, but it doesn’t leave a thick layer of greasy cream of my face. There’s just a smooth feeling to my skin, a bit velvety to the touch. This organic moisturiser seems to pamper and protect my face nicely, without making it look like a grease-ball.

I adore the scent of this natural organic moisturiser, and personally I don’t have any issues with a bit of alcohol on the ingredients list. At least I’ve never noticed any bad reaction to alcohol on my skin. In my head, it’s a bit of a different story. I’ve read so many dermatologists’ opinions on its negative effects on the skin, that I grew a bit suspicious and try to stay away from alcohol in skin care products. That being said, I’ve also heard that the further “down” in the ingredients list it is, the less it is a problem. This cream is so luscious, that I may very well choose to ignore the bit of alcohol, and keep using it.

Pricetag: around US $40.
