Annmarie Skincare COO discusses the formulation process

Every time I talk about our products and what makes them so special, I am still amazed at how unique Annmarie Skin Care really is. Our products are one in a million, and the way we make them is so incredibly fascinating. You may love them because you’ve heard great things, you’ve seen the results, you’ve felt in awe while using them, or you know they are packed with herbs and oils straight from the soil. But today I want to share a behind-the-scenes look at what really brings the magic to these creations.

It all started 11 years ago…

I’ll never forget the first time I visited the lab with Kevin and our formulator. We stepped into a small, bright room to gear up with the usual whites required to enter a sterile environment. The preparation wasn’t just physical, though—it was energetic too. We took a few minutes to individually reflect in silence, clearing any negative energy and setting a truly positive intention before entering the actual lab.

This first piece alone kind of blew my mind. Sure, you may do this at home or if you just finished an intense conversation, but never would I think this would be done prior to walking into a skin care lab. But it makes complete sense! These products contain aloe and oil, which can be incredibly receptive to the energy of whoever is handling them. To further help with clearing our energy throughout the lab, there were beautiful pieces of geometric art, which depicted the most common shapes found in nature and offered a feeling of truly reconnecting to nature. There were also a variety of calming and high vibrational crystals placed throughout the lab—on shelves, on top of jars, near doorways—and among ingredients and finished products alike. It was the most peaceful and relaxing environment I’ve felt, and it was in a lab!

I thought, this is special. I am a part of something SO special and I feel so lucky to get to experience this.

“You could feel nature and all of its wildness.”

We then started touring the space room-by-room, watching the different phases of creation and seeing where it all happens. The team was quiet and relaxed. Serene, in a way. The only conversation that really came up in the lab had to do with formulations and production. That’s correct—there was no outside conversation, and really no opportunity to put anything but relaxed and positive energy into the products.

We eventually reached my favorite room, which was full of CO2 extracts, pure essential oils, potent plant extracts, and high quality botanicals. The pristine aroma of floral elements and herbs hung in the air. You could literally feel the energy of these concentrated plants and flowers as you stood in this room. You could feel nature and all of its wildness. Another had jars upon jars of herbs, roots, flowers, powders, and every type of ingredient you can imagine. Seeing the beautiful colors of nature, the pureness, the rawness was enlivening.

A closer look at the formulation process:

A few rooms later, we stepped into one of the main spaces with high ceilings, that beautiful geometric art again, and large vats of herbs and oil. Our herb infusion process is the second step in our process of making our formulas, and wow—this was a sight to remember. Each of our products has a unique herb infusion, specific to the product and the skin type it’s intended for. So if you can, close your eyes for a moment and imagine numerous large containers of oils and aloe steeping with, sometimes up to 25 different herbs, and again, crystals placed delicately around and on top of the containers. These oils would steep at a low temperature for up to 45 days, while being stirred occasionally with positive intention and thoughts.

After this infusion, the necessary ingredients are meticulously blended to create the most perfect supernatural formula imaginable. It all comes together—the herb infused oil or aloe, CO2 extracts, cold pressed seed oils, citrus based stem cells or flower and plant cells, and finally, pure essential oils.

Naturally preserved and energized by the sun.

Finally, these creations are carefully poured into a glass, called Miron glass. This violet colored glass is special. It energizes the organic molecules of the product by filtering in a small percentage of light while protecting it from the harmful rays of the light spectrum. It preserves the freshness of these formulas, while also giving it the beneficial energy of the sun.

Lastly, the products are packaged with so much intention using sustainable materials that are recyclable or made up of post-consumer-waste, and produced at a wind-powered facility. Every step of the production of these products is consciously considered.

The essence of Wild & Beautiful.

Thought and intention is present from beginning to end with our products, and perhaps you’ve felt it. Maybe you’ve felt a positive vibration and energy as you mist yourself with our toning mists, or as you delicately blend our facial oils into your skin. Well, now you know our secret of what makes these products so special.

We are grateful for your continued love and appreciation for all of the steps in our process and what creates Annmarie Skin Care to be the special skin care line it is.
